Frequently asked questions

ABOUT THE MEGA KERATIN BRAND

What is Mega Keratin™?

Mega Keratin™ is a professional brand lineup for hair straightening, restoration, and reconstruction. The range includes keratins, nanoplastics, hair reconstruction masks, and cold care products from professional brands such as ZOOM, HAVEN, L’AMARI, MAXWELL, Natureza, and Love Potion, as well as professional thermal tools EVOQUE for hair reconstruction procedures, including flat irons and hair dryers.

The lineup is developed specifically for salon professionals who value stable and predictable results across different hair types.

Who are your products intended for: clients or professional specialists in the hair reconstruction industry?

The core Mega Keratin™ formulations are strictly professional products designed for technologists, hair reconstruction specialists, and salon hairstylists. Performing procedures at home with hot formulations without proper training can be dangerous for both hair and scalp.

Home care products (shampoos, masks, and post-procedure care) are available for client use; however, the selection of the procedure and the reconstruction protocol is determined and performed by a professional specialist.

In which countries is Mega Keratin™ available?

Mega Keratin™ is available in European countries and is supplied by an official distributor through certified channels. Orders for salons and technologists can be placed online with delivery across the EU and selected other regions, with conditions varying by destination. Exact shipping options and the list of available countries depend on your location and are displayed during checkout on the website.

How is Mega Keratin™ different from other professional brands in the keratin and hair reconstruction mask segment?

Mega Keratin™ does not rely on a single “miracle formula.” Instead, it offers an extensive range of more than 20 professional formulations with varying levels of straightening power, nourishment, and hair modification.

There are solutions for afro and very dense curls, fine Slavic waves, severely damaged blonde hair, cold reconstruction without straightening, as well as ready-made starter kits for professionals.

This approach allows specialists to select a protocol tailored to the specific hair type, rather than forcing the hair to fit one universal product.

SAFETY, FORMULATIONS, AND FORMALDEHYDE

How safe are Mega Keratin™ procedures for hair and overall health?

The safety of Mega Keratin™ procedures is ensured by selecting the formulation individually according to the hair type and level of damage, choosing the correct temperature settings, and strictly following all stages of the professional usage protocol for the specific product. When all of these factors are properly observed, the risk of damage is minimized.

Do your formulations contain formaldehyde?

The Mega Keratin™ range uses different technologies. The full ingredient list is always stated on the packaging and in the technical documentation (SDS). If a client avoids formaldehyde, the specialist should check the ingredients of the specific product and, if necessary, select an alternative formulation.

Do your products comply with EU cosmetic safety requirements?

Yes. Mega Keratin™ products comply with EU cosmetic safety regulations. All officially supplied products meet EU standards and are accompanied by the required documentation. We recommend using only products purchased from official partners.

Is there any smell or smoke during the procedure? Are masks and ventilation required?

During hot procedures, a smell and light smoke may occur - this is normal. It is recommended to work in a well-ventilated area, use an extraction system, and wear a protective mask. These are standard safety measures for both the specialist and the client.

Is Mega Keratin™ suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding clients and people with allergies?

During pregnancy, breastfeeding, or in the presence of allergies, any procedures should only be performed after consulting a doctor. In such cases, it is recommended to choose gentler procedures or postpone the session.

PROCEDURE CATEGORIES: KERATIN, HAIR RECONSTRUCTION MASK, COLD RECONSTRUCTION

What is the difference between keratin, hair reconstruction mask, and cold care treatments?

• Keratin and nanoplastia straighten the hair and reduce frizz.

• Hair reconstruction mask is primarily focused on restoration and shine; straightening is a secondary effect.

• Cold care provides deep restoration without heat and without straightening.

What are the main Mega Keratin™ product lines and how do they differ by purpose?

Mega Keratin™ includes several lines designed for different needs:

ZOOM - for strong straightening and a dense, long-lasting effect.

HAVEN - gentle smoothing and care for colored and lightened hair.

L’AMARI - premium products for deep restoration and high shine.

MAXWELL - a universal line for a professional’s everyday work.

Natureza / Love Potion - concentrated formulations for dense and severely damaged hair.

SELECTING A PROCEDURE BASED ON HAIR TYPE

How do I know whether I need a strong straightening procedure or gentle smoothing?

• If you want shine, softness, and a neat shape without strong straightening, choose hair reconstruction mask or a laminating treatment.

• If you want maximum straight hair and curls are a concern, keratin or nanoplastia is suitable.

• For severely damaged hair, cold reconstruction is performed first, and straightening is done later.

Which Mega Keratin™ formulations are suitable for afro hair and very dense curls?

For afro hair and very dense curls, strong formulations with maximum straightening are recommended, such as ZOOM Coffee Straight and Natureza Cacau do Brasil - the strongest options. Other suitable choices include L’AMARI Ultra Strong, MAXWELL Total and Revolution, as well as Love Potion Acai.

What should be chosen for Slavic waves and mixed hair types?

For Slavic waves and mixed hair types, gentle formulations that reduce frizz and add shine without strong straightening are recommended: Haven Apple/Honey/Shine, L’AMARI Supreme Brilliance, MAXWELL Ultimate or SkyBlond, ZOOM BTX Diamond, and Amazon Oils.

Which products are safer for blonde and severely damaged hair?

For blonde hair with damage levels 1-3 and weakened hair:

ZOOM Organoplastia Blond and BioPlastia; Haven Honey, Jambo, Peach; Natureza Matizador NTOX, Cacau BTX; Love Potion Love Tox Pitaya.

For damage levels 4–5, a course of cold reconstructions or hair reconstruction mask treatments is recommended first (NTOX Massa/Matizador, Magic Brush, Love Tox Pitaya, etc.), and only then should straightening procedures be considered.

RESULTS AND DURATION OF EFFECT

How long does the effect of Mega Keratin™ keratin and hair reconstruction last?

• Keratin and nanoplastia last on average 4-6 months.

• Hair reconstruction and laminating treatments last about 3-4 months.

• Cold reconstruction is performed as a course, and the effect is cumulative.

• For dense curls, root touch-ups may be needed sooner.

Will my curls disappear forever after keratin treatment?

No. Keratin does not eliminate curls permanently. The treated length remains smooth for a long time, but new hair at the roots grows with its natural curl pattern. Therefore, corrections are required over time.

Is it possible to keep curls and just remove frizz?

Yes. Curls can be preserved while reducing frizz by using hair reconstruction treatments, laminating care, and cold reconstruction (such as ZOOM BTX, Haven Shine/Shimmer, L’AMARI Glow). These treatments hydrate the hair and make curls more defined and neat.

PREPARATION, PROCEDURE, AND HOME CARE

How should I prepare for a Mega Keratin™ procedure?

No special preparation is required. The stylist will cleanse the hair before the procedure. It is important to inform the specialist in advance about the condition of your hair and any allergies, avoid aggressive treatments for 1–2 days prior, and arrive without heavy styling products.

How long does the procedure take?

The duration depends on the length and density of the hair, as well as the selected formulation.

Do I need to wear the product on my hair for several days?

No. With modern Mega Keratin™ formulations, there is no need to keep the product on the hair for several days. In most cases, the product is rinsed off on the same day, and you leave with the finished result.

How should I care for my hair after keratin or hair reconstruction treatments?

Use a gentle shampoo, apply a mask or conditioner regularly, and always use heat protection. Try to limit the use of deep-cleansing shampoos and protect your hair when swimming in pools. This helps maintain the results for a longer time.

COLORING, CHEMICAL PROCEDURES, AND CORRECTIONS

What should be done first: keratin or coloring?

If strong coloring or lightening is planned, coloring should be done first, followed by keratin or hair reconstruction.

If only a light shade or toning is needed, keratin can be done first, and coloring afterward.

Can coloring and keratin be done on the same day?

Theoretically, yes, but it is risky for the hair. It is safer to perform coloring and keratin with a 7–10 day break. On severely damaged hair, doing both procedures on the same day is not recommended.

How often can keratin or nanoplastia be repeated?

Keratin and nanoplastia are usually repeated every 4-6 months. Applying strong formulations frequently to the same length can damage the hair. Between straightening procedures, it is better to use hair reconstruction mask or cold care treatments.

CONTRAINDICATIONS AND SPECIAL CASES

In which cases should a specialist refuse to perform the procedure?

A specialist should refuse the procedure if there are scalp injuries or inflammation, signs of infection, a strong reaction during a strand test, or if the client feels unwell. Safety always comes before results.

Can Mega Keratin™ be used for teenagers?

Yes, but only with parental consent. For teenagers, cold care and gentle hair reconstruction mask treatments are the first choice. Keratin is used only when necessary and with proper aftercare.

FOR PROFESSIONALS AND SALONS

Who is allowed to work with Mega Keratin™?

Mega Keratin™ should be used by trained professionals. Proper diagnosis and technique are essential for safety and achieving good results.

Is separate training required for Mega Keratin™ protocols?

Yes. Mega Keratin™ has different lines and techniques that work differently depending on hair type. Training helps professionals choose the right formulation and achieve consistent results.

What is the minimum product set a professional needs to start working with Mega Keratin™?

To get started, a professional needs a deep-cleansing shampoo, a couple of hair reconstruction treatments, a medium-strength keratin, and one strong formulation for dense curls (such as Maxwell Total/Revolution or Natureza Cacau do Brasil), as well as a finishing mask. This set covers the majority of client needs.
